Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows “Heroes in a Half Shell Ain’t Half Bad”

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016) (Non-Spoilers)
Director: Dave Green
Cast: Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Stephen Amell, Tyler Perry, Laura Linney, Brian Tee, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Alan Ritchson, Gary Anthony Williams, Stephen Farrelly

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows’ kid-friendly action and cheesy, slap-stick humor is aimed at a younger target audience. If you no longer wake up early on Saturday mornings to watch cartoons or the phrases “Cowabunga” and “Turtle Power” don’t illicit nostalgia, it could be a tough movie to sit through.

Fall TV Preview: New and Returning Shows We Are Excited For

Which Television Shows Will You Be Watching This Fall?

The Fall TV season is already under way. As usual, there’s a glut of shows to cut a swath through. Because there’s way too many shows to humanly keep up with, I’ll have to be ultra selective. I’m going to breakdown the new and returning shows into a few different categories.

The first category is the returning shows I plan on watching, these lean towards comic book based and sci-fi dramas. The second category is returning shows that are on the bubble, meaning I haven’t completely given up on them but they are in danger of being dropped if they don’t hook me in quickly or I might check them out when the whole season is out on home video/streaming services.  And then I’ll peer into the crystal ball to try to pick out the best new Fall shows I might be interested in.

The Flash Series Premiere Review

CW’s The Flash 2014 TV Series: Spoiler Free Pilot Review

The opening scene to The Flash (8 pm, Tuesdays on CW) tells us exactly the kind of television show it is. It’s a fun, contemporary super hero series that asks the audience to believe that the impossible can be possible, if only for the next hour.

The Flash doesn’t set out to redefine the genre which is not a bad thing at all. The show embraces its comic book origins in a way that is accessible to new and old fans alike.

What sets The Flash apart from other comic book based shows such as Gotham, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and even Arrow is that its lead character has super powers. It’s refreshing that while the amazing feats of The Flash aka Barry Allen are not grounded in realism, his personality and emotional reactions feel genuine.

Arrow Season 1 Episode 22 Darkness On The Edge of Town Oliver and Felicity

Hello Arrow fans! Everything that is fun to watch about Arrow is encapsulated in Season One’s penultimate episode. What could have felt like another hour of set up, turned out to be a thrilling season finale part one. The episode’s climatic quality is the result of the entire cast having significant scenes, a death of an important character, the exciting caper in the Merlyn building and finally a rematch between the Hood & the Dark Archer.

Arrow: Season 1 Episode 21 – ‘The Undertaking’ Review

Arrow Season 1 Episode 21 The Undertaking

Hello Arrow fans. With only a couple of more episodes left in the season, “The Undertaking”, brought together several unresolved plot points which as a faithful viewer is fairly satisfying to watch. “The Undertaking” did not rely on any big surprises or last minute revelations rather the episode examined Malcolm’s ruthless plan to destroy the Glades from it’s inception 5 years ago and how it resulted in the sabotaged yacht that stranded Oliver on the island.

Arrow: Season 1 Episode 19 – ‘Unfinished Business’ Review

One of the most polarizing villains on Arrow makes his reappearance this week. After episode 12’s Vertigo, many fans voiced their objection to Seth Gabel’s take on the psychotic drug dealer The Count. In anticipation to Unfinished Business I was curious if the producers would re-envision The Count to appease dissenting fans or embrace what some have described as a Walmart version of Heath Ledger’s Joker.
