The Biggest Problem with Netflix’s Iron Fist

Iron Fist Season 1 Review (Minor Spoilers)
Starring: Finn Jones, Jessica Henwick, Jessica Stroup, Tom Pelphrey, David Wenham, Rosario Dawson

Iron Fist is loaded with possibilities. Marvel’s latest Defender has a built-in Netflix audience and the advantage of seeing how to construct a superhero TV show off the momentum of Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Looking back at Season 1, it’s evident that Iron Fist is inconsistent, uninspired and deeply flawed.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones Season 1 is Off to a Strong Start (Spoiler Free)

Netflix Jessica Jones

Jessica Jones Season 1, Episode 1 “AKA Ladies Night” (Spoiler Free Impressions)

The first season of Daredevil was critically praised, leaving Jessica Jones, the second of four individual Marvel drama series created for Netflix, a lot to live up to. The series premiere is a good indication that it’s tough, no-nonsense heroine can not only hold her own as a lead character but that this series is going to be a dark, engrossing ride.

How To Fix The Future of ‘Fantastic Four’ Franchise

fantastic-four-2015-poster-and-wallpaper

The future of the Fantastic Four franchise is not bright. 20th Century Fox spent 120 million dollars to produce a reboot of Marvel’s longest running superhero team. Early estimates put the opening weekend box office at well below $40 million.

Director Josh Trank has spoken out against the studio meddling with his vision of Fantastic Four. As reported at comicbookmovies.com, Fox cut out 3 action set pieces days before filming, took over the third act from Trank and removed the director from the editing room.

Currently, Fantastic Four (2015) is scoring 9% on Rotten Tomato’s critical consensus, the audience score is at 28%. I’ll reserve judgement on the movie until I’ve seen it myself.

Here are five options on how the studio can handle the Fantastic Four property. We’ll discuss the pros & cons and the probability of each option.

Community Links & News: Five Not So Random Things I’m Looking Forward To This Year

Tom Hardy In Mad Max: Fury Road

Yawn! I feel like a bear coming out of hibernation. Truth is, this blog’s inactivity over the last month is mainly because I wasn’t feeling inspired to write anything. I felt like I hit a wall and needed to consider if there was a future for this blog.

I’m grateful for your friendly support and words of encouragement. A belated and sincere Happy & Healthy New Year to all you gentle readers and fellow bloggers!

I’ll keep this post short and sweet. Here are some things I’m looking forward to in 2015, some are just based on my gut instinct.

Mad Max: Fury Road. To be honest, I’ve never seen a Mad Max film. But Tom Hardy looks so bad-ass in the above photo and I’m a sucker for gritty, action-packed post-apocalyptic movies.

• Batman: Arkham Knight.  I don’t have a next gen system yet. Maybe this is the year? Arkham Asylum and Arkham City are the best Batman games out there and I’m glad that Rocksteady Studios is making this installment of the franchise.

Game Of Thrones Season V.  Hands down my favourite show on the air. Can’t wait to see the adventures that await Arya, Tyrion and Daenerys this season.
