How the Walkway Scene in Star Wars: The Force Awakens could have been better (even if you love the movie)
Star Wars: The Force Awakens Spoilers Discussion Ahead!
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is breaking all kinds of records at the box office. It’s not just die-hard Star Wars fans who are giddy about Episode VII, critics love the movie too. The critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes is currently above 90% and The Force Awakens received a Best Picture nomination from the Critics Choice Awards.
This is all not to say that The Force Awakens is immune to criticism. It’s possible to be a fan of a film and at the same time be critical of parts of the movie which aren’t working as well as it could have.
Some believe that there are way too many similarities between The Force Awakens and A New Hope. On the other hand, some appreciate how Episode VII mirrored the original and reenergized the Star Wars universe for a new generation. While others draw the line at the Starkiller base being an unneeded retread of the Death Star.
Personally, The Force Awakens is deserving of a lot of praises yet there is one scene in particular, among a few, that took me out of the movie watching experience. This is the scene towards the end of the movie where Kylo Ren confronts a certain rebel on an open bridge. (Spoilers ahead, final warning)

Sense8: The Wachowskis’ Netflix Series is Better Than Their Feature Films
A Spoiler Free Look At Netflix’s Sense8 Season 1
“From the creators of the Matrix“, the promotional tagline to Netflix’s Sense8 series about 8 telepathically connected people around the world, is a double-edged sword. For those whose imagination was captured by the 1999 sci-fi classic, they might be curious enough to check out what the Wachowskis can do in a long form narrative. On the other hand, it’s been a while since the directing duo hit a creative peak and their most recent film, Jupiter Ascending, was critically panned.
Sense8 ranks as the Wachowksis’ strongest recent effort, not that 2008’s Speed Racer or 2012’s Cloud Atlas set a high bar. The Wachowskis and co-creator J. Michael Straczynski wisely ground the sci-fi premise in smaller, personal stories to start off the series. The sensates’ ability to mentally visit and share emotions, skills and knowledge with those they are psychically bonded with gets around the problem of disjointed storytelling which often plagued Heroes, another show about gifted individuals spread across the globe.
Arrow: Season 1 Episode 10 Review – ‘Burned’
In this week’s episode titled “Burned”, we learn that Oliver has not donned the green hood in the past six weeks ever since his near fatal showdown versus the Dark Archer. There was a time when Oliver was so driven to take out corrupt criminals he put the most important people of his life into the backseat. Now, the pendulum has swung back the other way. Oliver tells Diggle that he wants to focus on his family, especially since his stepfather Walter was abducted or presumed dead.

If you’ve watched Christoper Nolan’s Batman trilogy or HBO’s Game of Thrones you’ll probably get a kick out of watching the amazing talent of Steve Love. Some of the impressions are not exactly spot on but they still might make you laugh. My personal favorite are King Robert Baratheon and Jorah Mormont impressions. If you are easily offended, consider this a heads up.
