Arrow Season 5 Returns with a Vengeance
Arrow Season 5 Review – Full Spoilers Alert
Arrow Season 5 is a return to form. The many strengths and high-points outshine the weaknesses. On the other hand, the major problems with Season 4 overshadowed the good moments. Often what happens is when a season finishes strong it shapes how people feel about the season as a whole. Some people talk about Season 1 as being a good overall season which I mostly agree with. But when looking at other sites, the review scores didn’t pick up until the latter half of Season 1. With Season 5, not only did it stick it’s landing it was consistently solid, more or less, after the first few episodes.
Netflix’s crime thriller ‘Ozark’ goes to town on dirty money
The positive buzz for Netflix series Ozark piqued my interest. I’m in the middle of catching up on The Sopranos so I wasn’t necessarily looking for another crime and family centric drama. But after checking out the pilot to see if it would be something I’d like I became addicted. The pilot is very good, one of the best pilots I’ve seen in a while. I ended up finishing the rest of the 10 episode season in less than a week.
Ozark hits the mark on what you’d expect from a crime thriller. One lie can cost you everything. And one lie can lead to another and then another. Jason Bateman plays Marty Byrde, a Chicago-based financial adviser who must save his and his family’s lives by moving to Lake Ozark and launder $500 million dollars in 5 years. Where some crime stories are about a heist or stealing money, Byrde must spend cold hard cash by the barrel full.
‘Stranger Things’ is a Love Letter to 80’s Films
If you heard anything about the Netflix drama Stranger Things about a young boy in a small town disappearing under creepy, otherworldly circumstances, it puts your knowledge of 80’s films to the test by referencing everything from E.T. to Akira and cherry picking elements from classic Stephen King stories.
If You Love 12 Monkeys You Might Like Continuum
What is it about great time travel stories that are so popular? Everyone has their own personal favorites and reasons. I like how there’s so many ideas and ways that a story can be explored through time travel. It also captures my imagination seeing how directors and storytellers envision what the future has in store for humanity.
There are a tonne of time travel series going on right now. 12 Monkeys and Continuum are two different kinds of time travel shows. What they have in common is that they are both filmed in Canada and air on Syfy network.

I won’t go into too much detail, but I’ll try to give enough explanation so you can decide if it’s a show you might be into.
